
New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board has not selected any candidate for the post of Director (Corporate Planning & Personnel) at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), a Schedule ‘A’ Navratna defence PSU.
The interview took place at 08:45 AM today. Only one candidate, Panuganti Srinivas Rao, General Manager (Design), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, came in for the recommendation procedure.
After examining the candidate, the board did not reach any feasible conclusion and suggested that the Administrative Ministry/Department decide the further course of action for filling the vacancy. Options include constituting a Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC) or adopting any other appropriate method, subject to the approval of the competent authority.
The position vacates on 01 January 2027, currently held by retired Naval Commander Vasudev Puranik.
The responsibilities of the position include long-term strategy making, human resources management, organizational development, and maintaining industrial relations, among others. The vacancy comes with a pay scale of Rs 1,80,000 to Rs 3,40,000.
The next steps for MDL could be to re-advertise the post or follow the advice given by the PESB.
